OUTCOMES & RESULTS
In this 16-hour series, we identify primary and secondary outcomes you want to achieve.
We incorporate these outcomes into every step of the process -- from messaging, to image selection, to storyboarding, to final presentation.
Story DESIGN PRINCIPLES
Your participants are guided through highly interactive exercises to elicit personal story material. I present basic storytelling principles. We apply these principles by critiquing other digital stories to illustrate the power of nuance in image, word, and sound.
Participants have at least 48 hours to write their voiceover script, practice delivering it compellingly, identify 15-20 images, and background music.
DRAFTING & CRAFTING
Participants peer-edit and review each other's voiceover script and images for flow, logic, suspense, and message. They practice inflection and tone.
I work one-on-one with people's narratives to help hone their message. We record their voiceover in a sound-proof room.
We learn to build sequences on WeVideo, to crop, pan, zoom, edit voiceover, lay music, and add transitions and titles.
SHARING IS CARING
We screen final stories for each other, give feedback if requested, and learn how to post different versions on various social media platforms.
We learn about free resources for distribution, image editing, and basic social media strategies.
If desired, we present all digital stories in a formal celebratory screening for family and friends.
